Draft Milford Town Centre Plan

Milford Town Centre Plan – draft for public comment

Have your say on Milford’s future

Devonport–Takapuna Local Board is developing a centre plan for Milford’s town centre.  Two public meetings were held in Milford earlier this year and local organisations were included in the Working Party. The Board invites all Milford people to provide feedback on the draft plan, which was released today, Monday 10 November.

The draft Milford Town Centre Plan focuses on improvements to the town centre itself and strengthening connections between it and the surrounding natural features of Milford Beach, Lake Pupuke and the Wairau Estuary.  It identifies the vision, outcomes and projects which could be implemented - dependent on funding - to enhance Milford over the next 30 years.  The plan suggests short term projects (0-5 years) and more aspirational projects for the medium and long term (6-30 years). These will be supported by the council, the board and/or led by community groups. We want to know if we have focussed on the right things and proposed a vision for Milford’s future that we can all support.

Walk and Talk Milford – a guided stroll with speakers, 2-4 pm Saturday 15 November, leaving from village square near New World.

Speakers’ Evening – Milford Baptist Church, 7- 9 pm Wednesday 19 November, hosted by MRA;

Market Day marquee – Village Square, 10 am - 2 pm, Saturday 22 November;

Lakeside regatta stand – 11 am - 2.30pm, Saturday 22 November;

Display in Takapuna Library foyer from 10 November.

The feedback period opens on 10 November and closes at 4pm on Monday 1 December.

MRA encourages you and your friends to come along to any of these events and share your ideas with Council.

Email reminders will be sent to members just before each event.
